Well, when the coronavirus has started to severely hit the world about 1 year ago, Japan was not an exception. People started to work from home and no outdoor activities have been encouraged ever since then. A foreign employee like myself who lives alone in Japan, it was indeed difficult to find any interactions with other people, and nothing interesting there was after work. Feeling as if precious time was being wasted, I read a couple of books: Atomic Habits by James Clear and Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. These two miraculous books have helped me turn this demanding time into an opportunity.
The benefits of having good habits were clear, and I also liked how the author of Miracle Morning believes productive activities should happen in the morning. So, I’ve decided to practice good habits, in the morning. (Please go ahead and read them if interested..! 👍)
I was concerned if I would be able to keep up the habits, if I set up too specific ones, so mine are rather easy and general, and only for the weekdays. The habits were:
🌄Wake up early in the morning
🛏️Make up the bed
🧘Meditation
🏃Exercise
😋Have breakfast
📰Read newspapers
✏️Study/Do something productive
Actually, I was planning on waking up at 6 am but I realized I needed to actually wake up earlier to get my habits done. But, that is for Part 2 🙂
